Forbidden Rites turns linked Ritual encounters into a test of endurance rather than a simple damage check. A character that comfortably defeats one campaign boss may struggle when successive threats leave little room to recover. Before investing POE 2 Orbs into another offensive upgrade, consider whether your build can survive repeated pressure without losing its damage rhythm.
Build for the Entire Encounter, Not the Opening
Burst damage feels impressive when every cooldown is ready and the arena is clear. Its weaknesses emerge later, when resources run low and another boss demands immediate attention. Judge your setup by what it can sustain after the opening attack, not just its strongest moment.
Keep a reliable damage option available between major offensive windows. Damage over time or other persistent effects can help maintain pressure while you reposition, provided your chosen skills support that approach. Avoid assembling a rotation that stops functioning whenever one expensive ability becomes unavailable.
Test against durable enemies without assuming perfect conditions. If your damage collapses whenever you dodge, the build needs a more practical rhythm before entering longer Ritual sequences.
Make Defense and Recovery Work Together
A larger defensive pool helps, but it cannot replace recovery. Repeated encounters punish characters that survive one heavy hit yet cannot rebuild their resources afterward. Look for defensive investments that remain useful throughout the fight instead of relying entirely on brief protective windows.
Match your recovery tools to how you actually deal damage. Recovery tied to attacking becomes less dependable when dangerous attacks force you away from the target. Likewise, a setup that depends on frequent kills may feel comfortable against groups but struggle during isolated boss phases.
Keep mana demands under control as well. Spending every available point on offense can leave you unable to attack at the moment an opening appears. A modest reduction in theoretical damage is worthwhile if it prevents repeated downtime.
Choose Movement That Preserves Pressure
Standing still to channel damage creates a clear tradeoff: stronger output during safe windows, greater exposure when threats overlap. Such builds need disciplined timing. Start committing only after recognizing an opening, and stop before the next dangerous sequence rather than chasing one additional damage tick.
More mobile setups can continue applying pressure while circling hazards, but movement alone is not protection. Keep routes deliberate, preserve space around your character, and avoid retreating into corners where the next attack leaves fewer escape options.
Use crowd control where it meaningfully reduces surrounding pressure, without assuming every boss will respond equally. The goal is breathing room: enough time to recover, reposition, and resume attacking without turning each mistake into another emergency.
The strongest preparation is a build that remains functional when conditions deteriorate. Use Path of Exile 2 Orbs to address the weakest part of that cycle, whether it is recovery, survivability, or damage uptime, before chasing a larger opening burst.
